The Suffolk Nutrition Clinic

Food Intolerance Testing
I use a food intolerance test called ‘The Food Detective’ which is produced by Cambridge Nutritional Sciences. It is a blood test which measures for intolerances to 46 different foods including wheat, rye, oats, rice, corn, milk, eggs, yeast and soya and can be carried out in the clinic while clients wait.
The test involves a finger prick of blood which is collected in a small capillary tube and added to a diluting solution before being added to the food samples. It takes 40 minutes to process the results and during this time clients are asked to complete a health questionnaire. This is completely optional but helps me to give them the best nutritional support after the test.
This test measures the reaction of IgG antibodies in the blood to the various foods.
